Monday, 24 March – Pio XI Glacier

Pio XI Glacier is located at the terminus of the Eyre fjord. It is the largest western outflow of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. It is South America’s longest glacier at 4.5 km across and 91.5 m high. It is also a rare advancing glacier. Not landing near this one… it was super active. Thunder then calving nearly every 5 minutes.
